Toeing the line between Pedro the Lion's more upbeat emoting and Jens Lekman's ukulele-soaked rambles, ARMS (known about town as Harlem Shakes' guitarist and, in full disclosure, Flavorpill editor Todd Goldstein) drips his songs with a devious sense of indie-minded character exploration. In tonight's acoustic set, he keens his way through sometimes sweet, sometimes seedy tales of lost boys, idle minds, kids aflame, and the never-ending oddity of eyes. Setting the evening's heart-wrangling tone, fellow Brooklynites Hospitality open with a series of buoyant bass lines, heart-wrenching melodica squawks, and the coal-throated twee-isms of singer Amber Papini.
