Cartoonist, cheese-lover, and bike aficionado Julia Wertz is both irreverent and endearing. Her autobiographical comic book, The Fart Party, bows at the altar of awkwardness with inappropriate humor, candid obsessions, and deliberately simple drawings, resulting in a charmingly bizarre self-portrait. In addition to Wertz's print and web-based chronicles, she also edited a forthcoming anthology of comics inspired by "missed connections" ads. Tonight, Wertz joins fellow graphic novelists Liz Baillie (My Brain Hurts), Hutch Owen mastermind Tom Hart, Shutterbug Follies' Jason Little, and Nickelodeon mainstay Sam Henderson for a show-and-tell session at KGB Bar.
