KGB Bar says…

Hemingway's famous six-word story — "For sale: baby shoes, never worn" — was the inspiration for SMITH magazine's online six-word memoir challenge. The resulting book, Not Quite What I Was Planning, brings together submissions from both unpublished writers and famous figures (among them Amy Sedaris, Joyce Carol Oates, Dave Eggers, and Stephen Colbert) and embodies the poignance of brevity. Tonight, editors Larry Smith and Rachel Fershleiser introduce several of the book's contributors and invite members of the audience to write their own tiny autobiographies.
