According to esteemed commentator Stanley J. Krammerhead III, the Rutles were "essentially imperical malengistes of a rhythmically radical yet verbally passé and temporally transcended lyrically content welded with historically innovative melodical material." More simply, they were cranking it up to 11 in the days before Spinal Tap had even heard of Stonehenge. Created by Monty Python's Eric Idle, the Rutles' All You Need Is Cash managed to simultaneously lambaste the ever-loving bejeebus out of the Beatles and outline the template for the modern mockumentary. Some 30 years after the film's release, Idle presents Rutlemania, a tribute show starring Beatles impersonators the Fab Four in their new roles as the Prefab Four.
