Sunset Rubdown
Thursday Mar 27, 2008 (8pm)
Brooklyn Masonic Temple
317 Clermont Ave
$10
Spencer Krug, Canadian indie superstar extraordinaire, brings Sunset Rubdown back to Brooklyn — an impressive feat, given that he also keeps busy playing in Wolf Parade, Swan Lake, and Frog Eyes. Krug originally conceived Sunset Rubdown as a solo outlet for some of his weirder, more introspective art-pop leanings; two albums, three additional band members, and some hard touring later, it's metamorphosed from side project to full-time band. Sunset Rubdown's an unhinged, ramshackle affair, full of drama and emotion, buoyed by Krug's trademark, cathartic howl and songs rivaling anything in the rest of the frontman's back-catalog.
