Tonight, One Step Beyond opens your ears to every Lite-Brite shade of techno in the spectrum with a rare live set by Simian Mobile Disco. Besides being ace producers (SMD's James Ford helmed releases for Klaxons and Arctic Monkeys) and remixers, the boys have spent the last few years becoming a better pop band than most — last year's debut album, Attack Decay Sustain Release, effortlessly fused the acidic booty spank of their dance-floor singles with some genuinely melodic songwriting. And, if you need respite from the strobe-light kings, head up to the planetarium for a free show and a snuggle. Visuals tonight are by VJ Missy Galore and Fuevoz.
