Music: DJ Trouble & Bass feat. Benga

Benga makes his first stateside appearance tonight at Love's Trouble & Bass party, riding in on the success of last year's crossover anthem "Night," his collaboration with DMZ's Coki. The former Big Apple Records clerk's sophomore LP, Diary of an Afro Warrior, came out earlier this month on Tempa; the album throws a brick in the dubstep template with tracks like "Zero M2" and "E Trips," which eschew murky half-step beats and clichéd wobble bass in favor of soul and electro influences. Drop the Lime and Mathhead rep NYC's own heavy-bass scene.
