Performing Arts: Comedy Tim Minchin

Australian comic Tim Minchin — dubbed Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival — gives Off-Broadway audiences a sampling of his self-deprecating, raunchy humor. Armed with Victor Borge's skills on the piano, the comedic rock star fills 90 intermission-free minutes with demented odes to environmentalism, amateur pornography, religious disdain, and sex with inanimate objects. Given the opportunity, Minchin's dirty mind might actually even overshadow the Spitzering of New York politics.
