More Flavor: City Gem Pravda Russian Movie Night: Storm Over Asia (1928)

With its vaulted, subterranean locale and impressive caviar and cocktail selection, Pravda has the look and feel of a Russian speakeasy. The posh spot is owned by Keith McNally (who also runs Balthazar and Pastis) and is justifiably pricey with an extensive menu of decadent food and drink options. Beyond vodka and borscht, Pravda also evokes the spirit of the Motherland with weekly screenings of early Russian and Eastern European films. Tonight's selection, Storm Over Asia, is a silent film that examines social conflict and partisan politics through the eyes of a Mongolian herdsman.
