Reading The Tenth Muse w/ Paul Muldoon

In his dual posts as New Yorker poetry editor and Princeton professor, Paul Muldoon handles both established and emerging writers. Tonight, the Irish-born Pulitzer Prize-winner hosts a showcase at the Unterberg Poetry Center featuring three poets at different stages in their careers. Emily Fragos demonstrated a musical aesthetic with her manuscript Little Savage, and she's been favorably compared to Emily Bishop and Robert Lowell. She's joined by fiercely original Brooklynite Matthea Harvey (Modern Life) and the ever-prolific Brenda Shaughnessy, who won last year's James Laughlin Award for her second collection, Human Dark with Sugar.
