More Flavor: Festival Silent Films and Unique Instruments Festival

The Silent Films and Unique Instruments Festival pairs cinema classics with scores from experimental musicians. Film selections include an early adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1916), avant-garde documentary Man with a Movie Camera (1929), Fritz Lang's iconic Metropolis (1927), and a pre-Andrew Lloyd Webber version of Phantom of the Opera (1925). The flicks are accompanied by live performances from the robo-centric League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots and Bradford Reed (on a self-designed electronic zither known as the pencilina), or pre-recorded scores by synth-pop idols Pet Shop Boys and Giorgio Moroder.
