Tonight's performance finds Berlin's Stefan Betke, aka Pole — long-time innovator in the field of experimental dub and, along with Barbara Preisinger, owner of the consistently exceptional ~scape label — playing with a new toy: the Yamaha Tenori-On synthesizer. While the gizmo's technical specs might be lost on most, all the flashing lights look wicked cool as Betke pounds the tool into submission to release his signature sub bass and ultra-minimal beats. The mini-fest of digital gear junkies also features fellow countryman Robert Lippok (of To Rococo Rot), SF glitchsters Sutekh and Safety Scissors, and the machine's creator, who provides a demo for the audience.
