New dub-only specialty venue Studio BPM welcomes Jamaican old-head Sammy Dread tonight, sparking a little chaos in south Williamsburg. One of the original artists to cross over to dancehall in the late '70s, Sammy now brings his sweet, golden-era sound back to the stage, reminding us why the world still has a crush on reggae culture. Several other dub stars chime in, as well: international rude boy Lenky Don reps the new world with electro-roots music, while DRM and Erik the Red get irie with funky permutations of island beats.
