Olafur Eliasson works beyond gallery and exhibition spaces, dictating every aspect of the viewer's experience to create environments that are worthy of meteorological description. In his 2003 groundbreaking installation, The Weather Project, at the Tate Modern's Turbine Hall, Eliasson had patrons basking in the glow of a large indoor sun, and, this summer, New Yorkers can enjoy his offshore waterfalls in the East River. After its warm reception at SFMoMA, Take your time brings the artist's spectacular outdoor phenomena indoors, with a full retrospective of his work from the last 15 years.
