It's difficult to reconcile the Jeff Koons of topiary puppies, pool floaties, ornamental hearts, and oversized choo-choo trains with the man who once scandalized the art world with Made in Heaven, in which the artist did the nasty with his porn-star/politician ex-wife Ilona Staller (aka Cicciolina). But that's Koons: the same megalomaniac who insists on labeling "banal" that which his patrons find so extraordinary. This summer, on the heels of such stellar artists as Lichtenstein and Cai-Guo Qiang, Koons vacations on the roof of the Metropolitan with three mammoth sculptures worthy of the season: Balloon Dog (Yellow), Coloring Book, and Sacred Heart (Red/Gold).
