Suffused in natural light and crackling with background noise, Romania's latest film import brims with the clatter of everyday life — from a dripping sink to a whining old car engine. That's both the strength and weakness of Stuff and Dough, a travelogue that follows a young kiosk worker, his best friend, and the token girlfriend. The group rattles through the countryside to Bucharest, where they deliver a local gangster's mysterious package in exchange for some quick cash. Danger looms everywhere, but the trio chatter on blithely in a love song to the uninformed bravado of youth.
