Ford & Fitzroy are a seriously stand-out local band who're still paying dues. (That is to say, these guys wail and pound with talent and fervor; they deserve a larger venue than Trash Bar.) F&F are for those of us that liked our Modest Mouse sadder and darker, before "Float On," before Kidz Bop. Frontman Jay Schneider warbles like a still-angsty/alcoholic Isaac Brock while lead guitarist Glenn Waldman and the rest of the five-piece band plow through powerful, piercing indie rock with just enough of a psych wash to make head-bobbing an acceptable alternative to dancing.
