More Flavor: Conference PEN World Voices: Public Lives/Private Lives

The PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature is, as the name suggests, an annual celebration of language, writing, and free speech. Now entering its fourth year, the week-long lit-a-thon features an impressive assortment of panels, signings, and lectures. This year's series focuses on the tension between public lives and private lives — a theme that is at once both timely and timeless. Guests include Michael Ondaatje (The English Patient), Mario Vargas Llosa (The Green House), Umberto Eco (The Name of the Rose), and festival chair Salman Rushdie (The Satanic Verses).
