Film: Shorts Rattapallax/PEN World Voices Literary Film Feast

PEN Festival curator Ram Devineni almost steals his own show. Devineni's a filmmaker, poet, United Nations poetry maven, publisher of multimedia lit journal/DVD Rattapallax, and all-around literary impresario. With PEN, Devineni displays his passion for both the written word and cinema through a selection of short films, including an animated adaptation of Sylvia Plath's poem "Mirror Talk," a remix of Gertrude Stein's poems by DJ Spooky, and Nine Poems in Basilicata, a film about beat poet John Giorno (who also appears). Both Devineni and Giorno believe technology can create new audiences for poetry; appropriately, Devineni introduces a discussion between Giorno and filmmaker Antonello Faretta.
