Note: There is a live performance by Enlightenment and Ujino Muneteru on Wed Apr 9 (7-9pm).
Tokyo gallerist Hiromi Yoshii revisits Japan's post-superflat art scene with After the Reality 2, a group exhibition featuring several first-time exhibitors and the return of the infamous Enlightenment collective. Yosuke Bandai's teetering post-consumer waste towers, Daisuke Fukunaga's visions of discarded and forgotten playthings, and Ujino Muneteru's patch-worked electronica sculptures all evoke visions of junkyard play dates. Illuminated structures by Akira Shimidu, gentle images of the natural world from Yukiko Shibata, and a few toy horses from Koichi Toya balance the mess with hopes of rebirth.
