Keralino Sandorovich has conquered just about every artistic medium there is. In addition to founding indie-rock band Uchoten and directing theatre company Nylon 100°C, he's also been an actor, a columnist, a filmmaker, and a playwright (a role that won him the prestigious Kishida Kunio Prize in 1999). For the Japan Society's play-reading series, writer/director Aya Ogawa presents his own translation of Sandorovich's Frozen Beach. Part black comedy and part drama, the play is a sardonic tale of violence, isolation, and coming of age on a remote island in the South Seas. A discussion between Ogawa and Sandorovich follows the reading.
