Puerto Rican rapper Joell Ortiz isn't afraid of taking chances. After securing deals and subsequently parting ways with So So Def, Aftermath, and Koch — who released his star-studded 2007 album The Brick (Bodega Chronicles) — the now-free agent hits the streets without a label, spreading his grimy, Latin-flavored flow throughout his native Brooklyn. Tonight, Ortiz rips the stage to pieces along with a diverse, well-fitted crew of MCs, including BK boy wonder Skyzoo, Latino lyricist Emilio Rojas, and South Carolina's hard-rhyming Dan Johns.
