Top Girls isn't what you'd call a "feel-good" play. It's more like a provocative, hard-to-digest one that will leave you thinking for days, maybe years — or even longer. Experimental playwright Caryl Churchill wrote and set Top Girls in the '80s, but her harsh critiques of society and feminism are no less relevant today. Six women play characters in several different time periods in the first act, and settle into modern-day parts in the second. The talented Elizabeth Marvel portrays Marlene, a tough, English career woman, throughout.
