With a hometown like Eugene, Oregon, and a name like Ramble John, an upcoming DJ is sure to stand out. So, perhaps it was inevitable that the original lil' John (aka RJD2) would enter the music world an outsider. Now world-renowned, the current Philly resident has been known to spin some of the most unconventional hip-hop tracks in existence. Tonight, the crossover producer whips ghetto-tech ambient slop into a tightly woven package of funky dance beats. Repping Columbus, opener Happy Chichester is a gleeful guitarist with a tendency to flip it on indie kids with didgeridoo-driven, beat-boxing interludes and high-energy pop anthems.
