Film Band of Outsiders (1964)

Film Forum's five-week tribute to French New Wave master Jean-Luc Godard's 1960s heyday includes tonight's screening of the director's classic Bande à Part. The film stars Anna Karina as Odile, who bats her long, dark eyelashes at both Arthur and Franz. After the two pursue her over English classes and espresso, they hatch a plan with Odile to rob her wealthy aunt. Bande à Part's charm lies in the short moments of grace when the three outsiders run through the Louvre, or in the memorably blasé Madison-dance routine — worth a few hundred obsessive YouTube plays in and of itself.
