Kumail Nanjiani
Saturday May 24, 2008 (midnight)
UCB Theatre
307 W 26th St
Super sketch-comedy team (and regulars on the sadly defunct Super Deluxe site) Olde English hit the stage tonight with a few special guests in tow. Between punking on Michel Gondry, the iPhone, No Country for Old Men, and other indie-tastic touchstones, the five New Yorkers welcome upstart comic (and fresh transplant from Chicago) Kumail Nanjiani. Originally from Pakistan, Nanjiani riffs on the obvious staggering cultural differences, but with a hilarious mix of wide-eyed observation and dudeish humor. Joining him is local Pete Holmes, known for his almost polar-opposite persona of the everyman anti-bro.
