Music: Rock/Pop Islands w/ the Magic and Street Carnage

Montreal's Islands had already collaborated with Beck, Wolf Parade, and Arcade Fire when they released their debut LP, Return to the Sea, back in 2006. Touring ahead of new album The Arm's Way (due out on May 20 from ANTI-), the band crams in plenty of new material, such as "The Arm" — a jaunty, Technicolor indie-pop number full of Bowie-esque snippets and jangling strings — which illustrates how much their sound has evolved over the last two years.
