You could call Roy Davis Jr. a Chicago-house legend, Daft Punk friend, or future-soul phenom, and no one would bat an eye. Unlike his often-pigeonholed Ubiquity labelmate Miguel Migs, Davis can hold his own in many dance platforms — from jazzy downtempo to his jack-house 12-inches for the acclaimed Strictly Rhythm imprint. After nearly two decades in the game, Davis' tripped-out acid stylings still shake up clubs, swerving in between heavy bass, wild pitch, and just about every other post-Chicago touchstone since the early '90s. Tonight, the Super Family residency finally gets a taste of real Chicago mayhem.
