If it's not obvious from song titles like "Novocaine for the Soul" and "Cancer for the Cure," Eels mastermind Mark Oliver Everett (better known as E) didn't get a lot of hugs growing up. But his dad had a pretty good reason for being distant: Hugh Everett III was a misunderstood genius who formulated the long-maligned, but now increasingly accepted, "many-worlds interpretation" of quantum physics. Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives follows E's quest to understand a father he knew primarily from academic journals and breakfast-table tirades. Tonight's screening is followed by a discussion featuring E, theoretical physicists Michio Kaku and Max Tegmark, and moderator Brian Cox.
