Stuck is inspired by one of those too-freakish-to-be-believed, real-life events that normally wends its way into a Law and Order episode rather than a full-length feature. Tom (Stephen Rea) has just been evicted from his apartment after losing his job and wrangling unsuccessfully with a Kafkaesque state-employment office. Heading out for his first night on the streets, he lands on the car windshield of high-as-a-kite Brandi (Mena Suvari, improbably sporting corn rows), a nurse's aide. When she hides him in her garage rather than taking him to the hospital, what ensues is a surprisingly farcical and unsparing look at the limitations of normally decent people's morality.
