For this five-night stand, legendary Jazz drummer Paul Motian (perhaps best known for his work with the Bill Evans Trio) teams up with Bad Plus pianist Ethan Iverson, a man who made a career jazzing up unlikely contemporary standards like "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Rounding out the trio, bassist Charlie Haden has played with everyone from Dexter Gordon to Pat Metheny. All three musicians are old hats when it comes to experimental genre fusion, so count on a few Bad Plus songs working their way into the set — not to mention an epic battle between bebop and indie rock.
