The Gotham Chamber Opera's Ariadne Unhinged is the story of a woman who, deserted on a Greek island, steps up to the very edge of madness. Her lover Theseus has left her there, and yet he's the only person who can rescue her. Ariadne's eerie, lonely voice is supported by the Armitage Gone! Dance company and classical musicians, who illustrate the story through the music of Monteverdi, Haydn, and Schönberg. Internationally acclaimed photographer Vera Lutter's haunting set design frames the tale of isolation and insanity.
