There's nothing wrong with a well-timed redux, but neo-garage bands like the White Stripes, the Hives, and the Kooks don't have much on the originals — beyond being alive, of course. Case in point: reunited '60s underground legends the Electric Prunes render your average newbie irrelevant, kicking out the jams with the energy of acts half their age. Known for short-lived hit "I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night)" and an iconic appearance in Easy Rider, the band continues to incorporate the snot-nosed pop sensibilities of the Turtles, the psych-tinged skronk of the Kinks, and the pure garage-rock pounding of 13th Floor Elevators.
