Robert Therrien quite literally transforms mundane items into objects of whimsically huge proportion. In No Title (Folding Table and Chairs), super-sized chairs lean propped against the wall waiting for someone big enough to fill them, while a card table towers above Lilliputian patrons, reducing them to the size of kids in a game of hide-and-seek. This new work continues a theme begun when Therrien packed a closet with 888 red objects in No Title (Red Room) (2000-2007), and created a giant's world of dishes and cookware. Perhaps his next project will be the construction of an adult-sized playhouse.
