Silicone Soul tour constantly, but it's not often that they sling their slinky bass lines in New York. The Scottish duo of Craig Morrison and Graeme Reedie, longtime producers for seminal Glaswegian record label Soma, has nailed down a sound as distinct as the hum of a well-tuned European sports car, all interlocking rhythms and swift forward momentum. The pair has dubbed it "hypno house" — fluid, undulating, melancholy tech-house that evokes the feeling of driving a speedy coupe across the dance floor.
