MoMA The Museum of Modern Art says…

Winner of six Oscars, All About Eve is one of those timeless classics; it will never go out of style, and neither will its themes: the world of theatre, Hollywood, and the people who buy and sell their souls to get ahead. The film tells the story of Eve (Anne Baxter), a young aspiring starlet from the Midwest who graduates from being just a wide-eyed fan of the famous Margo Channing (Bette Davis) to become the actress' over-eager apprentice. Younger, fresher, and more calculating than her mentor, Eve manages to co-opt a career with the help of a brutish critic (George Sanders) and eventually comes to rule the castle in which she was once a servant.
