In the world premiere of Miss America, ever-funny feminist/lesbian theatre company Split Britches upends the beloved convention of ladies' beauty pageants. Their latest offering at La MaMa crowns a trouser-clad contestant atop a landfill, while turning the tables on the audience with a flash camera and a quick wit. The show is written and performed by Peggy Shaw and Lois Weaver, two of the company's founding members who, after their respective hiatuses, have joined forces once again.
