Reduce. Reuse. Remediate. The thoughtful and invigorating Crop Rotation brings together work by artists who each do their part to minimize waste, be it theoretical or physical, in their creative practices — reconfiguring found objects, placing materials directly on the gallery walls and floor, and re-envisioning once-dusty film reels. One can hardly ignore the writing on the wall in Marc Bijl's oversized Construction Sign, which reflects the (spray-painted) wisdom of Walter Benjamin: "the construction of life is at present in the power of facts…"
