Recently lauded by Blondie's Debbie Harry (who makes two guest appearances on the band's debut), electro-raunch outfit Heloise & the Savoir Faire are as serious about flashy spectacle as they are about disco bass lines. The band's electrifying live show includes two full-time dancers, multiple costume changes, and swooping vocals layered in an unabashed sensuality. Sharing the stage (and an affinity for theatrics), fellow New Yorkers Francis and the Lights conjure favorable comparisons to Prince, Peter Gabriel, and David Byrne, as they oscillate between freaky dance grooves and wailing ballads strung together by the frenetic, refreshingly nostalgic vocals (and dance moves) of singer Francis Starlite.
