Park-Lit and Opium Magazine present Literary Death Match in the Park

If you've ever gone to a book reading and thought, "this is good, but why aren't these authors coming to fisticuffs?" then head to Tompkins Square Park for Literary Death Match in the Park. Created in 2006 by Opium magazine's Todd Zuniga and Elizabeth Koch, LDM pits representatives of four literary magazines against one another in head-to-head reading battles. This match features Debbie Kuan (representing Wigleaf), Gabrielle Mitchell-Marell (Anderbo), Amy Shearn (Brink), and John Williams (TitlePage.tv). The short readings will be judged by writers Jeff Gordinier (Details) and Ben Greenman (the New Yorker) on literary merit, performance, and intangibles. The overall winner receives the recognition of his or her peers and a crazy hat.
