Tonight's short films, projected on the roof of the former Seward Park High School, vary from whimsical to bizarre, offering fantastical alternatives to the rigid New York scenery below. Luis Buñuel's Eating Sea Urchins is a disarmingly traditional glimpse of Salvador Dalí's long-lost family, while Dalí himself lends a quirky domestic portrait with Home Movies. More-recent fare includes Becky James' animated tale of bat masochism, I Hate You Don't Touch Me or Bat and Hat; David Lowery's look at a death-obsessed young girl, A Catalogue of Anticipations; and Red Bucket Films' cut-and-paste travelogue Buttons. The evening's live soundtrack is provided by pianist Bruce Levingston, who performs a new score by 2008 Rome Prize winner Keeril Makan.
