Steel your stomach for a dose of kinetic op-art before entering Constraction, an exhibition devoted to new modernist technique. Tauba Auerbach's 50/50 black-and-white tile sets the floor vibrating, while Peter Coffin's rotating ceiling kaleidoscope colors the ambient light and Ara Peterson's wavy bas-relief alternates hues like a hyperactive color-bar test pattern. If you're about to lose your lunch, a more staid bit of visual trickery hangs on the far wall, where Auerbach gives the illusion of wrinkled paper in billboard-scale pixels. Xylor Jane arrives at similar ends with pointillist flowers and hearts, and in the project room, welcome quietude awaits with a minimal concrete sculpture by Mitzi Pederson.
