Os Gemeos (the Twins) turn the walls of the world into sprawling krylon villages, incorporating whimsical imagery from their native São Paulo and Coney Island's Dreamland. Now, they return to Deitch Projects to bring their visions into three-dimensional reality with Too Far Too Close. The gigantic installation is a glimpse into a fantasy cityscape featuring massive, carpet-lined cars, pyramids with mirrored interiors, and sun-starched peasants peeking from behind shutters. The show's second floor has the Os Gemeos' classic yellow-faced characters adorning a wall of sound, whose sculptural speakers and video screens connect to an organ that visitors are welcome to play.
