Pascal Rioult's modern-dance troupe presents a world premiere and two old favorites. For his as-yet-unnamed new dance, set to J.S. Bach's Art of the Fugue, Rioult hopes to capture the "deeply sensitive character" of the technically ambitious, introspective score. The other two dances feature music by Maurice Ravel. Excerpts from three of the Frenchman's compositions accompany a woman on her life's journey in Prelude to Night, and the composer's famous Boléro accompanies an exhilarating group dance that erases any associations anyone might have with Bo Derek running on a beach.
