Tuesday June 3, 2008 (6–9pm)
This evening, the crowds pouring onto Fifth Avenue aren't here for the humdrum street fair, the fresh-squeezed lemonade, or the ten-pack underwear deals. They're glistening after a day across the street in Central Park, ready to visit one (or six) of the nine major art institutions that Museum Mile has to offer — all of which throw open their doors tonight, gratis. Make sure to catch Gustav Klimt's paintings at the Neue Gallerie, Jeff Koons on the Roof at the Met, and the summer-long show of Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning at the Jewish Museum.
