The moment that comic books became graphic novels was a "big bang" for the medium — formerly immature ephemera morphed almost instantaneously into art works of newfound cultural significance. In just a few years, the once-humble form gained international credibility while becoming more popular among comic-book fans and literature scholars alike. Post-Bang is a day-long symposium that examines the immediate implications of this dramatic shift. The event is broken up into panel discussions (ranging from "Comics and the Internet" to "Comics and Kid's Lit") and includes a conversation between Pulitzer Prize-winner Art Spiegelman (Maus) and Emmy-winning underground comix artist Gary Panter.
