Jason D'Aquino pulls from 13th-century illuminated manuscripts of Persian poetry and 18th-century England's enamel-on-ivory portraiture for his steadfastly contemporary, teensy-tiny drawings on the inside of matchbooks. Subjects include the guts and gears of a pocket watch, a copy of the Marlboro man, vintage pinups, and a fishing lure. D'Aquino scavenges antique stores and dust-bin flea markets for aged paper and postcards to draw on, giving his works a worn tinge and the rarefied feel of a curio.
