Hollywood's J*Davey — the duo composed of new-wave producer Brook D'Leau and sexy, mohawked vocalist Jack Davey — are taking the future by storm, catching ?uestlove's eye and opening for Prince. The electro-hop duo brings its West Coast flair to NYC tonight, littering the stage with seductive, synthed-up tracks from its Nevuary-released album. A few other acts lend local cred: Brooklyn boy Taylor McFerrin (with a 'do that rivals Davey's) scratches the whole shebang with his signature Broken Vibes vocal explorations and neo-soul vibe; and repping Jamaica, Queens, gully-pop outfit Heavy bring enough electro attitude to last days.
