German model/actress Uschi Obermaier could have been dismissed as a classic '60s groupie — sleeping her way through a variety of scenes after running away from her Bavarian parents — except that she always did exactly what, and whom, she pleased. Starting with the radical, chic group Kommune 1, she quickly moved on to the likes of Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, whom she then ditched in order to travel around the world in a shiny bus. In a biopic based on Uschi's life, actress Natalia Avelon captures her Bridget Bardot glamor, as well as her legendary independence, with a ferocity that saves Eight Miles High from devolving into high-end porn.
