Music: DJ Tanner Ross

For the past few years, Tanner Ross has claimed secret-weapon status. At the 2007 Winter Music Conference, the little-known DJ came seemingly out of nowhere (that is, if the Berklee School of Music could be considered "nowhere") and dominated the Dirtybird Records showcase. Since then, he's been one-upping his own headliners, playing sets just a little bit nastier, chunkier, and funkier. 2008 is Ross' year: his booty-house and techno productions are getting snapped up by labels from Freerange to Spectral Sound, with last year's shuffling, shoulder-bounce monster "Kruger Fingers" serving as reason enough. Ross takes the top slot tonight, with support from Jesse Mann.
